OT: Quicktime playback on Windows 7
A bit off-topic but relevant to videowork. I was checking a client-supplied website with embedded Quicktime video on the webpage for reference and I can’t get the video to play. This video played back fine on my older PC (which I’ve got boxed up). I’ve got a newer PC running Windows 7 64bit.
When I refresh the website, I get a ActiveX bar at the top basically stating I need to add-on something from Quicktime / Apple. I click on the bar to Install the Quicktime add-on, get a brief download icon and then nothing.
I’ve already installed Quicktime player 7.7 Nothing is working.
Anyone have any ideas? I did a quick chat with support from the Apple site but they were of little help and said I need to check with
the website admin. This is nuts, the thing was working fine on the old PC… I can’t help but think there’s some default setting or something preventing this from working. Using IE8 BTW.
Any ideas…mucho thanks!
