I often need to pull music tracks off of music library CD’s. In the previous version of OSX, I could select the track in Icon view and up pops the little Quicktime window next to the track I’ve selected. I often skip through the track to preview different sections of the cut using the bar at the bottom of the window. With the current version of OSX, rather than the traditional QT window, we now get the view with the little “Play” button in the middle of the window. OK, that’s fine, except that I can’t seem to be able to skip through the track to preview different sections.

Is there still a way to skip(scrub) through an audio track while in Icon view in the finder?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Hit the space bar instead….Quickview opens…its real neat. You can scrub through the track and more.

    hey tom

one thing i do cuz its faster is open soundtrack and click on the track in the file browser. it starts playing instantly. the i load the file and convert it if i like it and save it to my media drive.

I believe the instant play is a preference in soundtrack

    hope this helps
