  OT: Place-Based Media TV/DVD Combo

  This is off-topic but since many here work with place-based media, thought I’d ask. Anyone have any opinions about using LCD TV’s with built-in DVD’s for placed-based media? I have a client interested in low-cost, 22″ – 32″ Screens placed in retail locations with a video loop playing during store hours. They want something simple to start out with and see how things work before they go to a more “digital-signage” solution.

  I’m thinking Viewsonic TV/DVD combos. The big thing I’d be concerned about is the durability of the built-in DVD player.

  Any input will be appreciated.
