Quick question: I recently moved and I need to mount my speakers above my computer in my new place. They weigh 23 lbs which was no problem before because I was able to put them both straight into studs. At the new place, studs aren’t an option so they’ll have to go straight in to drywall. Does anyone have any mounting advice so they don’t come tumbling down on me? I have brackets that can hold up to 50 lbs and fasten with two big screws. I’m planning on picking up some drywall anchors too.

    Thanks for any tips!

    Matt,

I had the same dilemma, I got a shelf at Ikea that’s 11″x48″ with sturdy metal brackets on the ends, and I used those white plastic drywall screws that look like a corkscrew, solid as a rock and it looks cool. I put my KRK Rokit 5’s on it, and there’s room in the middle for other junk.

I’d go to a hardware store or a Home Depot and tell the folks what you’re hanging and the weight load. Theys should be able to steer you to some strong enough wall anchors.
