  • OT: Looking for patchbay label template

    Hi all.
I’m overhauling a couple of edit rooms that contain patchbays (audio & video). I’d like to make new labels for the patchbays at the same time. I used to have a template that would work in AutoCad but I no longer use the older PC that had the program on it.
Does anyone know where I might find a template for use in Word or PhotoShop that will print correctly spaced strips of labels for use on these patchbays? I’m using ADC 24 input patches but I think that most all patchbays use the same spacing.
    Thanks in advance.

I did this recently, but couldn’t find a template either. I took a piece of paper, pencil marked the “spacing” of each unit, then used “x’s” to simulate a label. I spaced out the X’s until it matched the patchbay. Printed it to check, then copied that line of “x’s” a few times in the document. Below the “X’s” , on the next line, I would type in the real label names, using the X’s as guide for spacing and length.

This is a total kluge, but it did work. Good luck finding a template. (You may want to try the ADC website)

We used Excel. Measured the bays and set the cell size to that dimension. Took a few tries but it worked.

I did the same thing, but I have a word document.

send me an email and I’ll attach it for you.

Neutrik makes a little Windows program called Patchlabel.exe that you should be able to Google for.

    Thanks Chris.
I also found a downloadable Excel Doc. at this address:

    It works nicely.
