OT: Keeping Lion’s package after downloading from the Apps Store
Dear friends,
i’ve decided to buy Lion, but i don’t want to install it yet.
How can download as save the package?
is a “.dmg” file or how it is?
My previous experience with the App Store was, one year ago with FCPX. On downloading, FCPX installed him self without asking and, like an alien, took control of everything.
I don’t want this happens again with Lion.

I found a great link on keeping install file and making a disk image to a jump drive. If u cancel lion installer and then click on the app (show package contents) inside contents>shared support. There is a disk image. Thats all u need.

You will find the InstallESD.dmg when you select the Show Package Contents/Contents/SharedSupport

One of the reasons I want to keep the package is that here I can’t afford download few GBs whenever i want to reinstall something.

I totally agree, crazy to download gigs and gigs…every time u want a fresh install. I have a “lion boot” USB drive now and it works great. Just installed lion on a ssd with my USB drive and it loaded lion under 10 minutes. Amazing!
