OT: I love the Vegas forum on the Cow. It is very active, and the people here are very helpful. I can also learn a lot just by reading other people’s posts.

I need to begin learning Photoshop in earnest. Is there a Photoshop forum anywhere, that is as active, helpful and respectful as the Cow Vegas forum?

Someone I respect suggested the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). Is there a better resource than that one? Or is there a free resource that is equally as good?

    Thanks.

It seems that there is some activity going on to make the Creative Cow Photoshop forum more alive. But ofcourse this will never work without people asking questions. So please use the facilities offered by the Cow.

We have two very fine Photoshop forums right here in our own Cow pasture: 😉

    Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Photoshop basics

Both are hosted by Richard Harrington who is not only a guru on all things Photoshop, but he is especially good with using Photoshop for video. Richard created a few training DVD’s for us at VASST and they are chock full of great info for video editors. (ok… that was a shameless plug… but hey… Richard is good at what he does) 😉

OK, I’ll try to check out the videos, and then start asking questions.

    Thanks.

Norman, Rich Harrington also has (at last count) 124 Photoshop for Video podcasts here on the Cow at https://podcasts.creativecow.net/photoshop-tutorials-podcast
I’ve watched several of them and they are all excellent!!

Duh! I forgot all about the podcasts on the Cow… (I spent a week there one night…) definitely go look at those too. 😉

OK, first I’ll try to check the videos, and then I’ll try to check the podcasts (I usually do better with an organized video).

It may be some weeks before I get there, though, because some more website issues just cropped up. (But hopefully not too long….)

    Thanks!

Of all the professional associations that get my money every year, the NAPP is by far the most bang for the buck. Their member’s website has hundreds of tutorials, tips and their member’s only help desk is fantastic. Membership is worth every penny.

Here’s a tip. Find a seminar near you (kelbytraining.com/seminars/) and join NAPP at a seminar. You will get some freebies (books and or DVD’s) that you otherwise have to buy.
