Looking into conferences that have AR/VR as an important component. Siggraph came up as one. Any of the collective here been to Siggraph recently? Anyone know of other conferences that might fit the bill? Thanks in advance.

I think SIGGRAPH is still THE conference for this in the US, especially if you’re looking for gatherings of big graphics brains. One of our partners went in 2017 and found it really valuable. FMX is another important, related conference in Germany. We haven’t been to that one, but there’s always some interesting reporting that comes out of FMX.

We’ve been to Unite, too. It’s specific to Unity, but if you happen to be using that for your AR/VR, you should find it helpful.

how relevant is NAB and IBC these days ?
While I will go in 2018, Apple has not been there for years, and do you really need to bear the crowds
to see new software features in Adobe, Cinema 4D or Resolve. And doesn’t Blackmagic now have web previews
of what they will release at NAB ? And do they even wait for NAB or IBC anymore ? Of course, if you are looking for a new Jib, or lenses, or wireless systems, this does not apply to you.

Except that SIGGRAPH is not principally an exhibits show.

[Scott Witthaus] “Thanks Walter. Sounds like a trip to Vancouver in the summer.

Oh cool its back in the west coast (of Canada) ☺

    I haven’t gone since New Orleans 2009.
Used to be a yearly thing but changed my focus to NAB.
