O/T: Green-Friendly Videotape Disposal:
I have been archiving older video from 3/4″ Umatic, etc. and so now I have a pretty good pile of Umatic cassettes & library boxes that I no longer need. Most ( if not all ) of these tapes are past their useful life. I contacted my local community recycling organization to see if they could take them for plastic recycling… but nope.. they can’t / won’t and didn’t offer any other options.I hate to toss these in the trash but I can’t keep them in the prodn. office any longer. Anyone here have any suggestions?
Like I said, a tape recycler is pretty much out of the question as these are ancient 3/4″ some as old as 30 yrs and are pretty much beyond re-evaluation / re-use.
