OT – DVD Labelling Templates, etc
Posted by Max Frank on September 5, 2006 at 3:46 pmHi,
So now that I’ve joined the rest of the world and finally got a DVD-Label printer [Canon] I need cool label templates and backgrounds, etc.
Can anyone make any suggestions as to which they’ve enjoyed using?
Are there any free template sites I should know about, too.
Thanks in advance,
Wayne

Does you printer print sticky glue-on labels, or does it print on inkjet ready discs? If you joined the sticky label crowd you should reconsider. I needn’t go into all the reasons why stick-on labels are a bad idea, thats been covered in countless posts over the last several years.

Absolutely agree. Stick on labels really shouldn’t be used any longer. The discs get stuck in laptops, they start to come loose and can shatter the disc in a drive by making the disc out of balance.
Pick up a $100 Epson 200 printer and start printing directly on Print On discs. They look better as well. Epson comes with their own CD printing software. I create the image in Photoshop and import that to the Epson software.

September 5, 2006 at 4:01 pmI also use an R200 Epson that I bought for $59. It may be the best $59 investment I ever made.

September 5, 2006 at 4:13 pmHi,
yes, I know all about the sticky-label problems. I should have been more specific. I have the Canon iP5200 ink jet works like a charm.
The disks it came with, though, with the cool templates, etc – are only for PC.
There is a basic template program that shipped with it for Mac – which is why I’m looking at 3rd party options.W

September 5, 2006 at 7:08 pmLook no further. Get Discus by Magic Mouse Productions. I have been using it for a few years now with excellent results. Print directly on Disc. I also make some great DVD inserts with it.
