Please forgive me all , this is off topic. I have questions about the old Panasonic DVC 200. What happened to it? Hoping some fellow owners or a rep from Panasonic might have some ideas.

I have had the camera for years now, no problems. Just wondering why they stopped making it ? size, tape format ? too expensive ?

I don’t see too many posts on people still using the camera. Any idea how many were produced ? I belive they were on the market for maybe two years.

    Thanks for any input

Well why doesn’t Chevy still make the Nova or Ford the Pinto? Why isn’t Empire Strikes Back still in the theaters. What happened to Swensen’s Ice Cream Parlors? New models supplant old ones… In the case of the DVC 200, most users want high definition and/or 24p for starters these days so there ain’t much demand for SD 60i cameras any more.
