So, I’ve got a couple of new monitors and I thought it was about time I learned something about calibrating them. I’m not expecting perfection from consumer equipment, but in-the-ballpark would be good.

First, I have an LG 34UM95 computer monitor. I think it looks OK out of the box, except the brightness default was 100, so I dropped it to 50. I have an AJA T-tap going HDMI to a Sony Bravia HDTV. The TV has a lot of available color control and I eyeballed it to roughly match the LG. I have the HDMI-out of the Mac Pro going in to HDMI input #2 on the Sony, as an extended desktop. I can go full screen up there with YouTube videos or a movie in iTunes. However, there is a definite red cast in the image compared to the LG or the T-tap feed.

Any advice on getting things roughly accurate and similar from all sources on both monitors?
