OT-BluRay event at NAB
Because so many people are asking about BluRay on this forum lately, I wanted to alert you guys to an event hosted by NetBlender. These are the folks who created DoStudio specifically targeted at smaller, boutique type of shops that can’t afford $50,000 to $100,000+ for commercial BluRay authoring.
As I’ve learned, they’re also freely willing to share any and all information on how to create a BluRay disc, how to optimize your projects for BluRay and such. They’re really great folks, and even though their product only runs on Windows, if you plan to do any BluRay authoring or production in the near future, you’ll get a lot of knowledge. I run the software here and even purchased a Windows Vista workstation (Gag, I know!) that creates most of our BluRay titles.
If you’re going to Vegas, be sure to sign up for this because there are going to be some great announcements at this event. I’ve even heard a rumor that an encoder might be part of the new package so you’ll be able to export a Quicktime Movie from Final Cut Pro and then DoStudio will take over from there. That makes the process from Final Cut to BluRay disc even easier.
At the very least, you’ll be able to ask a lot of questions from guys who know BluRay inside and out. Oh and there’s a raffle too. Freebies!!! 🙂
