The only people who would be interested are those who have a camera that can shoot DNG. Since none of the Sony cameras do, it may need to become more popular before it gets Sony’s attention. This is what happened at the dawn of the DSLR craze. Sony couldn’t edit the footage until shooting with a Canon 500/700 became really popular and even then it took Vegas Pro a few versions to get it right.
