Does Adobe will ever release its products for the penguin?
Just curious to ear your thought.
I’ve very interested in the latest Ubuntu releases, it’s getting better and better. The only reason why I’m not switching to Ubuntu is due to the lack of Adobe support.
Perhaps Adobe should begin to think seriously to this market, following the recent wave on the Linux interest (see for example Flex that’s now open source).

So, you don’t see any hope.
After all, it’s just a matter of market.

“when the number of computers running Linux and nothing else surpasses the number of computers on the Mac operating system, Adobe will probably pay attention.”

Well, now we’re getting into a chicken or the egg type argument. Given that an after effects-like program is the only thing missing from the linux world (don’t talk to me about jahshaka, those clowns are still a LONG way off anything usable), if adobe were to port it, I predict that the penguin would suddenly start appearing on a lot more desktops. “Build it and they wil come” as they say.

Hopefully one day they will reconsider only offering their products to customers of the Microsoft and Apple corporations.

Personally, for my home projects, I’ve gotten into inkscape, gimp and especially blender (which as well as being a powerful 3D tool, has a pretty good node based compositor) and given up on Adobe until they decide to port to a REAL OS.

At work I still use AE on Windows, dreaming of the day Adobe come to their senses…
