    hi, there.
i used to be able to get here via safari, but these days i get this warning message:

    Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

    Cookie: cowadd_signature=T; cowage_apple_final_cut_pro=14; cowage_aurora_video_systems=14; cowage_g-tech=90; cowemail=nickm%40bigpond.net.au; cowname=NickM; cownotify=A; cowuid=12888; cowview_pref=t; cowvisited_thread_685538=1098281456; cowvisited_thread_685614=1098281516; cowvisited_thread_685831=1098281434; cowvisited_thread_686090=1098281310; cowvisited_thread_686322=1098281105; cowvisited_thread_686742=1098281043;

the “cowvisited_thread” list goes on and on.

any ideas on what i can do?
    (other than switch browsers)

    thanks,
    nick

I use Firefox and their email client Thunderbird on my Window$ and Mac machines and have never looked back. I love the tabbed browsing–lots of extensions and add-on plug-ins.

    Give it a try,

    Don’t worry Mr. B. I have a cunning plan…

Have you tried either “Reset Safari” from the Application menu or deleting/editing Cookies from Safari Security Prefs?
Have never seen or gotten any error messages with Safari or any browser from the COW.

    thanks,

i deleted some cow cookies, and while that worked for a while, the problem came back.

i’ve been using firefox to write these posts.
i;ve used it for a week, but i’m not loving it.

re-setting safari sounds a bit severe, but i might have to do that.
any tips for restoring my bookmarks, and other things?
