OT: 1394 Solid State Recording Devices
I must have had the most unfortunate thing happen to a videographer occur in 1 week: The tape transport mechanism in two of my HDV tape camcorders decided to fail, one at the end of the shoot, and the other at the start of the next shoot. I want to be able to hook up a solid state recorder to my Sony cameras via the firewire port and still be able to use the camera after it has been repaired.
Does anyone in this forum have advice and brands to avoid/recommend? As I live in PAL land, PAL compatibility is a must. I am looking at the Datavideo DN-60 Digital CF Card Recorder, but some reviewers report firmware issues.
My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
