OSX 10.6.6. Anything I need to know?
Posted by Matt Epstein on February 3, 2011 at 8:07 pmI like keeping my software current and am being invited my Apple to upgrade to OSX 10.6.6. I’m also not stupid and am asking if anyone has had any issues to speak of related to FCP Studio 3 or Avid software going vegatative in the process.
Anyone?

February 3, 2011 at 8:22 pmI’ve been using 10.6.6 for about 2 weeks with FCP 7.0.3 and haven’t found any issues. I have backup drives with the last 2 operating systems just in case I do find an issue.
I switched to FCP in 1999 and haven’t edited on Avids since, so I can’t speak for reliability there.

February 4, 2011 at 1:00 pmI am crazy about moving to new stuffs too which was why I tried the OSX 10.6.6 and the final cut studio 3 precisely i’m having issues with capturing my footage from Panasonic ag-dvx102e dv material PAL 720 x576 which i shot with the camera preset of 16:9 on 4:3 (i.e black clip above and below) with the new final cut 7, i normally use the pal dv setting to capture my clips but when i capture and try to drag the clip to time line, there is a message that says “For best performance your sequence end External Video should be set to the format of the clips you are editing. Change sequence settings to match the clip settings? NO YES ” and whether i clicked yes or no the clip is stretched, I’m beginning to wonder if the newer final cut doesn’t support dv users again,i tried to use adobe premiere mac version to capture this at times it captures as 787×576 and at times it captures the normal 720x 576 which i now import into final cut for further editing, this is absolutely crazy, i cant figure out where the problem is coming from, any help?

June 25, 2011 at 9:41 pmAnyone know if I can install a new drive in my MacPro, install Snow Leopard on it, and install FCStudio2 from my original discs…while keeping FCS2 on my current Tiger drive as well.
Also, will all of the FCS2 updates still be available for download as well?
Thanks! -
