OS X Tiger and no keyboard shortcuts
Posted by Alisdair Jones on May 2, 2005 at 4:14 pmUpgraded to OS X Tiger 10.4 with a clean install. Installed After Effects Pro 6.5.1 and upon launching AE, I get this message:
After Effects: KCHR resource not found, keyboard shortcuts will be disabled.
As it says, none of the keyboard shortcuts work.
This is on a 15″ Powerbook 1.5Ghz. Did I miss an option on my Tiger install?

May 3, 2005 at 10:38 amFinally! Someone else with the same error. I’m on an Imac g5 20″ myself. Guess it’s just a matter of time now, before we will see more and more people pop up with the same problem, once more and more uprgade to Tiger.

May 6, 2005 at 6:33 pmI have AE 6.5 installed on a 15″ Powerbook with 1.5Ghz G4 and running tiger and so far no problems. Maybe see if you can downgrade to AE 6.5 instead of 6.5.1. Just a thought.

May 9, 2005 at 10:27 pmI’ve found a solution to this bug. I had my keyboard input prefs set to Canadian and upon changing them to US the problem goes away.
cheers, Alisdair

August 11, 2005 at 6:32 amSo nobody has found a solution this yet? Switching to US English every time to have shortcuts in AE will be frustrating. We just updated to Tiger and now I’m having the same problem on our new G5 PowerMac.
Ross, in case you haven’t found out yet, you can change the input prefs in system preferences/international
