That was my 1st instinct – no leopard = no FCP 6. Or they’ll announce it but we’ll all have to wait till October. Either way we can still have fun with RED cameras and HD displays.

‘OSX Leopard delayed because of iPhone …’

How will Apple explain that to its non-U.S. customer base, which cannot get the iPhone AND still has to wait for Leopard?
FCP6 better be VERY good for them …

I’m thinking FCP 6 is not necessarily tied to Leopard. It will probably work on Tiger, just better on Leopard. I have no idea for sure, but that’s what I’m thinking.

Too bad…more waiting….hope they try out and work out all the bugs in the meantime.”

Interesting that it’s not on the Apple site. I was looking through their press releases and it’s not there.

Actually, just found it on the Leopard Sneak Peek page:

All these features and more are delivered to you in one universal, fully accessible, 64-bit operating system. Coming October 2007.

I don’t see any connection between FCP development and OS development. Historically FCP has always been behind OS development and even hardware development. The UB version of FCP did not come out until some time after Intel machines were available. FCP3, the first version to support OS X also supported OS9, and came out quite some time after OS X was released.

    All the best,

Most likely right. Besides, I don’t think anyone’s primary money making FCP station will get replaced by FCP 6.0 and Leopard 10.5.0 – gotta give it a few months to shake out all the bugs.
