May 15, 2009 at 7:40 pmAll good so far. Cloned my main drive of course, just in case. Kona 3 & 6.0.3 works fine. FCP 6.0.5 all latest updates. Using Bob Zelin’s Shared Storage over ethernet, this works great too.

May 17, 2009 at 11:48 amWe’re running a SAN system here and were told to hold off on the updates for a few weeks at this time. We don’t see a need for the update at this time, so all 6 of our workstations are holding steady at 10.5.6.

May 19, 2009 at 11:17 amCrash City… make and edit and it crashes.. 4 times this morning. I would not have switched to 10.5.7 except I had security concerns… stuck now because I did not do a clone before install. Hope a patch is coming down the line..

May 19, 2009 at 6:03 pmHaving MAJOR issues with 10.5.7. I wouldn’t recommend this update just yet. My Magic Bullet plug-ins won’t work all of the sudden and FCP keeps crashing. To make matters worse, once FCP crashes, I’m actually starting to have issues with other programs that I’ve never had problems with (Photoshop, Word, etc.). Other people in my office seem to be having similar issues.
So if you use FCP on a daily basis and can’t afford to lose any time — hold off.

May 22, 2009 at 5:09 pmThanks Andrew & George!
2 people having problems with the update is enough for me. I’ll be holding off for a while.

July 3, 2009 at 10:23 pmFCP is crashing constantly with MB looks in 10.5.7. I can’t even work for a minute without a crash.

July 6, 2009 at 2:31 pmGlen,
That sounds exactly like what happened with my machine. I love the MB Looks filters and had a 50 minute piece where I was using them throughout. I would scrub ten seconds into the timeline and the whole machine would crash or freeze up. The only solution we were able to come up with was to rebuild my machine from scratch to 10.5.6 and update everything to the point right before the 10.5.7. It was not fun.
Let me know if you figure out another solution. Best of luck.

July 6, 2009 at 2:57 pmI’ve had the same problem. Looks crashes in FCP and also caused CS4 AE to crash. I had to remove them from fxplug and Adobe Common folder.
It seems to be a dog of a plugin for me.
