I’m trying to create a simple paper ‘unfold’ effect on a layer which is proving to be more complex than I thought. The fold is a left to right sequence where each section folds from the back to the front as if you folded a piece of paper multiple times into itself. Here is a clip to explain what I mean.

I have a layer that I have created 7 ‘folds’ with. Each fold is dupe of the same layer with a new mask moved to the next position and the anchor point then shifted to where the fold is. Now my problem is how to shift the object’s orientation so that it’s mask and position don’t change, so then I can do a simple rotate around it’s new Y axis.

I’m sure there is a simple solution here. But at 2 in the morning my brain want tell me what it is!

    Thanks for the help.

ok. I’ve tried ging down the path of a parented Null. I orientate the null first so I can get the right axis which matches the angle of the mask but as soon as I parent the layer the artwork layer moves and appears skewed.

THis is a basic orientation problem but it is doing my head in with a looming deadline!

Had scaled my null so that was the reason for the distortion.

All sorted now for anyone this may help!
