  • Orient 3d layer to camera only, but not follow it?

Posted by Stephen Pickering on January 4, 2015 at 4:21 pm

    I’m sure this is a noob question…

I just want to orient a new 3D layer to face the camera at a specific time marker. But I don’t want it to continue orienting itself once the camera moves.

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks!

You might like my free keen-3dLayerTools script [link].

It has a tool to center and orient a 3D layer in the active camera’s view as position & orientation keyframes, and it has a tool for promoting 2D layers to 3D, keeping the 2D layers’ apparent positions in 3D space.
