  • Organize Interviews with Subclips/Markers or some other way?

Posted by Rudy Rangel on January 2, 2012 at 7:58 pm

I have a fairly large project with lots of interviews. I used to edit with FCP and would use markers/extended markers to mark the best sound bites. What is the best practice in Adobe premiere? Should I make subclips? It seems like the project will get large an messy if I do. I don’t get as much flexibility with markers in Premiere, so is there another more efficient way to do this?
    Thanks for the help

    Hi Rudy,

I’ve used subclips and the problem is, if your files go offline, you may a hard time relinking.

What I tend going back to is a separate sequence and blank titles as markers (the title name being my reference on the top track) .

That’s not a bad Idea. So just lay the interviews in a sequence and then add blank titles? Do you grab the bites from the sequences then?

Seems less messy than a bunch of subclips. I have about 20 ten-minute interviews. Do you think this will be the most efficient way? thanks for the discussion.
