    Hey Folks,

So it seams that every time I try to use a mask on a layer in Motion I get random orange frames in the render. I’m running on a 17″ 2.6 dualcore MBP with 4 gig’s of ram and a Gforce 8600m GT display card. Any ideas on a work around for this? It’s making Motion quite unusable for me.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Yeah I got a few of them today…

The way I worked around it was use the razor blade cut the orange frame, copy it into a track above and hit render… it seems to be just a random stuff up by FC and it dosen’t render it orange again.

Kinda messy way around it, but you gotta do what you can to get the job out.

I had to build a sequence out of the render files today to output H264 through compressor as FC kept crashing because of the Motion file. Whacky software… might have to use AFX again in the future.

Thanks folks, I appreciate you taking the time to answer this. I wound up just taking the graphic into Photoshop and cutting an alpha there. It’s rather disconcerting though to think this problem exists. Being a long time AE guy I like Motions behaviors approach, not to mention the work flow with FCP, but I find it a bit buggy.

    Thanks again,

    Mike
