  • Orange ellipse turns yellow when precomposed

I created a deep orange ellipse on a layer. I precomposed it and for some reason the new layer is now a YELLOW ellipse. I have not changed the transfer mode. It is still normal. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Can someone help me with this? Using CS5.

    Thanks in advance

Since there are so many ways to create a colored ellipse it might be helpful to know which method you chose, masked solid, shape layer, circle effect?

How was it colored? Fill, effect, gradient…? Did you move all attributes to the new composition when you precomped?

My guess is whatever method you chose broke the render order.

I’ll invoke Brian Maffit’s exhortation to remember M E T, Masks, Effects then Transformations. That’s the order you need to respect when nesting comps.

To add one possibility to Brian’s suggestions — is the precomp a 3D layer that’s reacting to a light, thereby changing color?
