  • option to turn off materials in render settings?

hey, just wanted to know if there’s a quick way of disabling materials from being rendered out? I’ve got a scene with a couple of main materials – one of them being a simple orange material with slight reflection/specular, the other uses one of the wooden textures that comes with c4d. I’ve also got a sky with HDRI applied lighting the scene.

I’d like to be able to un/check a box somewhere that disables materials from rendering and instead revert to the default grey look. I’ve looked in render settings > options, and can only find an option to untick “textures” but this doesnt seem to work. any help or alternatives would be appreciated.

    cheers

xsyann (https://www.xsyann.com) has a python plugin called xsTextureSwitch that does that. Needs R12 though.
