  • Option to paste mocha tracking data is greyed out??

Posted by Steve Denys on September 13, 2012 at 8:30 am

I have mocha V3 installed and also the mocha 3D track importer plugin for AE

When I track a planar with Mocha V3 en then want to export it to AE, the import mocha camera option stays greyed out (It worked like 2 times when I could select it, but all the reste of the time it doesn’t)

I can import a mocha shape when I export it from Mocha, but the camera doesnt work.

Any other ways of getting the data into AE?

You have https://aescripts.com/mochaimport/, but are there any other ways?

Probably not your problem, but maybe try to make sure you are currently over an active layer when you want to export? in my experience if you are on a frame where no tracking has taken place then the option is greyed out

It sounds like something is going on with your clipboard. Are you on Win or OSX X? There used to be an issue with After Effects taking over the clipboard and not allowing paste, but this is largely resolved in CS6.

    One thing to try:
    1. Save your mocha camera export as a file.
    2. Quit mocha
    3. Make sure your copy/paste is working in AE
    4. open up the saved file in a text editor, then copy to clipboard
    5. try to edit>paste mocha camera

The only way to get mocha camera solve in to AE is through the plug-in and it seems that AE clipboard is not working right. You could also try removing and re-adding the plug-in.

Lastly contact Imagineer Systems support for more help.

Tried it, but it didn’t work.

I can paste the copied text from the clipboard to a new textlayer in AE, so my paste is certainly working in AE, but the paste mocha camera option is still greyed out.

I also tried reinstalling the plugin, but nothing helped

The paste mocha shape WORKS when exporting data and importing it in AE, the button isn’t gray

Are you getting any errors when solving the camera in the Camera Solve tab?
Do you get a high percentage when you solve?
Can you attach the data so we can take a look?
