option key not working in AE6.5
for some reason, my option key when using in AE6.5 does not work. I know that it is not the keyboard since i can do Option+tab to switch between windows but for some reason, when i try to use the Option key with another function like a mouse click, AE acts like the Option key is not being pressed. for example, when i try to replace a footage in my timeline with something else in my project window, I am suppose to Option click and drag the new file on top of the layer in my timeline. When i try this, it does not work. it does the same thing as if i were to JUST click and drag without pressing Option. I also am going through a tutorial where it tells me to Option click on the stop watch to grab the pick whip…nothing happens. Has anyone else run into this problem? How can I troubleshoot this or fix it?

thanks for the reply.
I just checked Help and i don’t see anything on Keyboard pref or changing the layout of the keyboard commands…..
is there a way to replace footage through the menu?
