Optimum system for a laptop
I’m new to this forum, however I have searched to find previous posts on the best laptop for using Premiere. I didn’t find that exact topic.
My reason for wanting a laptop is that I am currently using another editing program, but have just learned that it may not be supported in the future. I’m not ready to abandon it, but I also need to look to the future. My solution is to gradually migrate over to the Adobe suite on a laptop. I have my current desktop system optimized for the editor I am currently using, and that system does not seem too Adobe friendly.
I am also using a smattering of After Effects and Photoshop on my desktop system.
I don’t want to say price is no object, because I don’t exactly have a huge budget but I will find a way to spend what I need to spend to get the job done. I am a semi-professional, so I need to do good work and do it quickly and dependably.
A friend recommended Acer. Do laptops have separate video cards? Are they as significant are they are on a desktop? What is the point of diminishing returns for RAM, considering that I will also be using Photoshop and After Effects? What is the recommended processor/processor speed?
