  • optimizing my r3d playback?

With all the redner cache options and other stuff to optimize playback i m a little lost on how i should proceed. Heres my setup for a r3d weapon project ( 5k hd ).

    My rig is a i7 5960x ( 8 cores )
    Dual Titan-X
    64 Gb of ram
media are on a RAID 0 ( blackmagic speed test says 1200Mb/s in read speed ).

Obvisoulsy i’m trying to do 25 fps playback… and now it’s only getting 15/20fps with debayering set to half good.
    Timeline is hd 1920×1080

any ideas on good starting block to getting better results?

    Regards
    J.

Presume this is a Resolve Pro (paid version not the free) and you have both Titan X cards enabled for CUDA.

What are your settings for playback scaling presuming you are scaling the r3d to a timeline with different pixel aspect to the camera original. I have had no issue getting 25fps with a single Titan X playing 8:1 r3d scaling to HD from a Dragon.

Should add my settings for scaling are for best playback and the final renders are to force best debayer etc

How does it work in 1/4-res good? That should be good enough for realtime playback, and you figure that’s roughly the equivalent of the HD screen on which you’re monitoring.
