Optimize for Streaming
Paul Murphy
September 27, 2013 at 2:14 amWhen you compress a video with h.264 video using Compressor, it has the option to optimize for streaming or download. The streaming option allows your client to watch a video as it downloads, rather than waiting for the whole file to load and then watching it. Is there an equivalent to this option in AME?

September 27, 2013 at 4:52 amThe only difference is whether a specific piece of metadata is at the beginning or end of the file. This piece of metadata is at the beginning of the file in movies created by recent versions of Adobe applications, so there’s nothing more that you need to do.

September 27, 2013 at 5:04 amThanks for responding Todd. Does this include AME CS6? This is the version I’m using and I’m told it is not streaming but downloading first.

September 27, 2013 at 3:31 pmYes, it should be functioning correctly in AME CS6.
If not, please submit a bug report:
https://adobe.ly/ReportBugIf you need to move this piece of metadata (called the ‘moov atom’) to the beginning of the file, you can find plenty of free utilities online to do that for you.
