Optimal output of DV shot doc with HDTV motion graphics?
Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.
I’m editing a short doc shot primarily on DV (Panasonic DVX100A in Standard 24p mode) in widescreen mode. I’ve been editing in a DV 30fps 720×480 timeline. I’ve received motion graphics materials done in HDTV 1280×720.
The client would like to master to HDCam, so I’m going to have to do some hardware purchases/rentals. But my question is, what timeline/codec should I be using? Do I throw everying into an HDTV 1280×720 timeline and enlarge the DV video? Is that the best way to enlarge the DV video? Or is it better to stick with the 720×480 timeline and just render out an uncompressed QT?
Would it be better to master out to something else besides HDCam?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks,
Patrick
