We have been in some debate at work on what the optimal settings would be for an export from Avid to AE or other graphic / compositing systems.
Is it best for the Editor to remain in same as source and export the the project / clips in this manner? We have had cases that have come back and bit us because the “text” on screen looks interlaced or jumpy, especially once exported for Studio pro – or other DVD software?

Would just like to get discussion on what workflow seems to be working the best with high end footage for compositing as well as DVD authoring – starting from the Avid. (Adrenaline on Mac)

Personally we use targa sequences. We had problems of frames being dropped from 23.976 HD quicktimes as well as a slight color shift. Graphics doesn’t like it as much but it has been solid ever since we switched.
