    Hi folks,

I have Avid Xpress pro running on a g5. What is the simplest and inexpensive way to get a ntsc monitor preview out WITHOUT getting a Mojo? Also, I also have Final cur pro and an aja io bo so the solution needs to not create conflicts with these devices. Is it simply to get a tv-out video card? Help?

You could look for a graphics display card that has s-video other video type output.

You should be able to run a firewire cable to your camera then out from the camera to the TV.

A TV out display card will just display the computer monitor on the tv providing no usable quality control. Which is, I assume, why you require this.

At least that is my experience with them.

There are grahics cards that have a S-Video or other connection to them like the Matrox Parhelia card used to do which drives two edit monitors and a third “client monitor.”

The camera is another way to do it, or any other DV type device. I have used a DVD recorder that has a FireWire input and outputs component, s-video, and composite. Not only does it work as a transcoder, it can create a DVD on the fly by hitting the “record” button.

The only problem with Fire Wire out is the out of sinc.
im editing on a second pci card wich delivers the video out to the cliant. works good anough.
