Opinion needed – Firewire DV converter
Hi All,
I’ve started myself a little digital media business and would like to offer some light video work as some of my services.
I have a working knowledge of the basics of capturing analog, basic digital editing, and exporting to a MOV, SWF, FLA, MPEG, etc…I’d like to offer video in those formats, as well as be able to author DVD’s with menus.
I’m looking for an opinion on purchasing a firewire a-d converter.
My wallet says the 100-500 dollar range is ok.
I’ve seen the Pyro, Canopus ADVC-110, Canopus ADVC-300, and DataVideo DAC100.I’m not a real techie when it comes to the inards of these things….
What would be a nice box to get that will cover my needs for a couple to three years? The converters I mention above seem to be the ‘mainstream’. If there are worthy others out there, please let me know.
Any opinions, whether correct or incorrect, are welcome.
😉Thanks,
Dave
