i hope this is the right board for my question: I am looking for pointers / best practices etc. for using a Digital Video Asset management Software (DAM) in the workflow of the production of an indie doc. I work as an editor in broadcast TV as well and there, DAM solutions are used for a long time. Now i wonder if there is something similar, preferrably open source, which makes asset management for docs easier than just using the NLE’s features itself. Anyone got experience with projects that used DAM software?

If you subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud you should give Adobe Bridge a look. I don’t have any recommendations/experience with any open source solutions. Are you on a Mac or PC?

I’m looking for this too. I have 10 TB of raw video I reuse often. Lots of wildlife stuff. I need something I can add keywords to all these video clips and have it searchable and preview abled.

Years ago I had research this.
But on my end they needed something that was free and worked with graphic designers as well as videographers.
Ended up using Adobe Bridge and creating a Keywords library.
