opening v5 in 4.5
Hi All,
I have a project done in v5 and need to use it on a different machine that is system 4.5. There did not appear to be any “save as…” an earlier version, so I tried exporting an edl, both as source and as master. When I imported the edl in v4.5 the audio edits are all visible, but the video is just one long clip (The project is built with only jpg images, and the clip is labelled as the first jpg).
Has anyone managed to successfully work backward in FCP? Any hints you could drop my way?

Export an XML…version 1. Then open that in FCP 4.5 and reconnect.

From FCP 5:
Export > XML…
Import that into FCP 4.5
