  • Opening Project in Earlier Version?

    Hey Folks,

Recieved project from outside shop that was made in AFX 6.5. We are running 6.0 and are looking for a way to open it with 6.0 in the next few hours without buying the upgrade. I have a tryout version of 6.5 that i can open and save the project with, but i need to work with it in 6.0. Do any of you all have the magic answer or am I out of luck and have to upgrade?

    Ouch!
    I believe you’re ‘hosed’
AE doesn’t let you save to previous versions like Illistrator or Photoshop.

The only way I can think of that you can still work on the project would be to have ‘them’ give you a rendered movie file, that you then import into AE 6. But if you needed to work with the individual elements, that won’t work.

If you upgrade, at least it’s will be for a much improved product.

    Cheers,
