Opening PremierePro project opens Speedgrade instead
Posted by Tom Jackson on November 30, 2013 at 2:20 pmDouble clicking any saved Premiere Pro project on my Mac Pro now opens Speedgrade instead. I have to first open PPro and then select the project to open. Anyone else experiencing this behavior with the October upgrade in CC 7.1?

December 2, 2013 at 6:48 amHi Tom,
I haven’t seen this myself but try doing the following.
Right-click on the Premiere project file> Get Info> Open With: Choose Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Hope that does the trick.
Best,

December 2, 2013 at 12:52 pmThanks Peter, I had a private post that suggested the same thing and that fixed the problem. Never had that happen before.

October 3, 2014 at 8:55 pmThis is an old post, but it just started happening to me this week. I solved it by right clicking the project file, clicking “Get Info”, then changing the “Open With” drop down menu to Premiere. After that, a button will come up below that saying “Change All”. Click that, and you shouldn’t have a problem with it again.

October 8, 2014 at 9:14 pmWhen opening my premiere project it opens SpeedGrade as well. I changed OPEN WITH to premiere and it worked. But every time I open that project again, it opens Speedgrade again. It’s automatically defaulting Speedgrade as the Open With program. Please help! incredibly annoying.

January 20, 2015 at 12:39 pmHello i too have that problem with the latest version of CC.
I can right click and open with PP, next time i log on, same thing it tries to open with SG.
If i try other, then PP and check Always Open With it says:
“The item is either locked or damaged, or in a folder you don’t have permission to modify (error code -39).”
