Opening Mounted LTFS Tape Fails
Hi All,
Been a while! I’ve been successfully backing up and restoring LTFS tapes using Tandberg’s LTFS Manager for several years now. However, I have just run into a new problem: I can back up to LTO-5, 6 and 7 successfully. As long as I leave the tape mounted after backing up, I can access all of the files just like a regular drive, although of course taking longer to open up folders. However, if I unmount the tape and then remount it, the first time I double click on the tape, I am taken to a new finder window and the tape disappears off of the desktop (unmounts). The tape can no longer be mounted then, unless I reboot. So, the short explanation is, I can mount the LTFS file system, but can’t access any of the files.
Has anybody else seen this and do you know of a cause and fix? I’ll put in a support request to Tandberg as well, but thought someone on the forum might have some thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
