Opening H.264 High 4:4:4 Predictive Profile material
I have Premiere Pro CC 2014 8.2.0 and some materials that were created with Handbrakes lossless settings. They are H.264 High 4:4:4 Predictive Profile based. I know WMP can’t open it, and Premiere can, but it’s all black and white instead of color. Is there a codec anyone knows of that can open these files? I asked in the Handbrake forum and they didn’t feel it was their problem to support how to use the output their tool created.
Appreciate any input.

Premiere supports Base, Main and High profiles on export so I’d guess that might be the limitation on the import side too.

Doesn’t premiere utilize codec installed in the system to open files as well? So assuming 4:4:4 Predictive is something that can be opened for editing with a codec, it should be able to utilize it no? Again assuming that codec exists as those files don’t open in WMP so base system has no codec to view that material.

Only if they’re something supported by Premiere, like Quicktime codecs.
