Opening FCP 5 project in FCP 4.5
Is there any way to open up a project saved in version 5 of FCP using an older version such as 4.5? I have an old G4 desktop at home and realized I couldn’t install FCP 5 on it because the graphics card is not supported. I have this project being edited on a G5 using FCP 5 at a different location than where my G4 resides. All of the footage has been backed up and cloned to a firewire drive that lives with my G4. I would like to have my editor send me a FCP project file via email so I could just relink the footage and watch the latest version of his edits without me having to get a DVD burnt each time or a webready compressed movie file that takes forever to upload/download and looks like crap to anyway. Is this at all possible? Please help.

Only way is XML. And there are a few gotchas. Read this
