I was wondering if there were any new developments with either AVC, VC-1, or MPEG2 encoding.

    This link:

looks interesting, but I’m looking for just encoding and everything I can see here seems to point to an all-in-1 authoring solution.

I currently use the HC Encoder for SD footage and IMHO it out performs my Adobe Media Encoder, Procoder 3 and in some instances our Cinevision encoder. I’ve read that it can handle video with larger dimentions than the SD spec, but I’m assuming it’s MPEG-2. Also, I’m not sure if you can you jack up the bitrate over 9 in HC?

Any insight would be really helpful.

    Many thanks,
    Clint
