Open project panel
Posted by Robert Withers on March 1, 2014 at 4:01 amThis is dumb, but somehow I closed the project panel in the media browser and can’t find how to reopen it or where it is. The project itself opens fine–I just don’t see the project panel in the media browser. Is there a button? Searches don’t find it. Is it somewhere on the drives? Thanks.

March 1, 2014 at 10:12 amYou can enable and disable different panels under the Window tab. The default shortcut for the project panel in Windows is shift+1

October 29, 2014 at 3:47 pmI made the same mistake and accidentally closed the project panel. I am on a Mac. I tried going to Workspace>Reset Current Workspace but the Project Panel did not reopen. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

June 3, 2016 at 10:36 pmDumb? Hardly. What’s dumb is that PP will sometimes “decide” that a panel will disappear. If you’re not experienced in fiddling with settings, the disappearance will be a frustrating mystery. Took me just a quick google search to find the fix, but here’s the thing: type “can’t find project panel” in Google and guess what pops up No. 1? This is evidence that Adobe has a recurring problem with stuff like this.

November 7, 2016 at 6:41 pmI just had the same problem, except that PP (2015.2) really seems to think that the missing Project tab is open, but I can’t close it or bring it to the forefront. Another weird separate problem with me is that my tabs keep overlapping/covering each other up and nothing seems to fix them. I tired almost everything, and then wondering if maybe it was buried somewhere, started closing all the tabs one by one and then seeing if the Window drop-down menu showed the Project tab as being closed as well. Lo and behold it did after the second tab was closed. Reopened it from the Window menu and it actually appeared. Quit and reopened Premiere and had the same thing happen again, although it closed along with a different second tab this time.
Just posting this here in case anyone else is having the same problem.

January 30, 2017 at 2:30 pmI GOT IT! When I click on the Windows Tab and then click Project, it brings up a panel with an open bin which is not what I want. I want to see my sequences and all my sorted bins. I then figured noticed a little folder icon with an arrow on it in the top left corner of the bin. By clicking on it a few times it takes me back through the folders and out to the original project panel. VOILA!
