Open Mac AE on a PC
I’ve been given a AE project done on a Mac with AE version 9.02 that I would like to open on a PC I tried CS3 AE and got a “error” message.
Will CS4 on a PC open this Mac project?Thanks,

Projects are cross-platform, so there should be no problem opening a project created on one operating system using After Effects on another operating system. (There are some small caveats.)
If I understand your scenario correctly, the problem was trying to open an After Effects CS4 project with After Effects CS3.

The problem is trying to open project file from a Mac (AE version 9.02)on a PC running Vista 64 using CS3 AE.
Should I be using CS4 on a PC to open this project created on a Mac?Thanks again,

Yes, use After Effects CS4 to open the project created in After Effects CS4. Operating system doesn’t matter.
