I’m helping out one of my friends with an animated short she is making. Has a small team rendering out normally shaded animated scenes with shots of a field of tulips with skies…ect. They are at the 11th hour and so there is no time to go back and do what she is after the ‘right way’ which means in 3d. However, using AE, Photoshop, …ect 2d Solutions I am trying to help her get the look shes after using just these base animations. The look she wants to achieve is something similar to the look fountain in this work from Siggraph

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2PwRox_0iw. Granted the textures are baked into the 3d if that is how this was done. So having a static look to things like the people and buildings have in this example is fairly out of the question. I am having them render out the different elements separately in the scene so I can have more control over them to help me get close. My question is whether or not any of you have any input on how you would achieve this look. I’ve played with video gogh and Studio Pro and some other solutions that hold sold potential. Just looking for some fresh ideas or solutions. Thanks.
