I have a Raedon 9600 Pro which supports OpenGL high-fidelity features in AE7 according to the supported hardware listing on the Adobe Website (https://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/opengl.html).

However under pereferences/preview it says my card does not support the OpenGL high-fidelity (i.e Blending Modes, Adjustments lays, track mattes Accelerated Effects, Antialiasing and Motion Blur.)
However Lights and Shadow are Supporrted.

I have the lastest drives and software installed and does anyone know how how I can enable the OpenGL high-fidelity with my Raedon 9600 pro video card, as Adobe claims my card supports them. Or do I have have to go hungary for a few weeks to save money for a new card?

    Second Question
Would I see noticble performance/preview difference if a got an entry level OpenGL workstation card in AE7 (i.e ATI FireGL T2-256 MB)

    Thanks

Well, you probably have the option to choose between different OpenGL config subsets as on my NVidia cards, so I’d check that. Usually there should be some kind of application specific profile or at least some option to prioritize some features. Dunno exactly, the only ATI card in my life so far was the one I won in a giveaway of a games mag and I sold it on eBay immediately. As for your other question: In theory any mid-level graphics board should suffice, but keep in mind the the larger res you work on, the more RAM your card needs to keep all pixels loaded and process the in realtime. Usually you only get this with higher-end-ish cards. It realyl depends on what you do – as usual. ;O)
