Open Captions using the Titler
I have had a request for Open Captions of the spoken language directly superimposed over the video images of the movie I’m editing. (Located similarly to subtitling, or closed captioning, only open).
Since this is labour intensive, I’m trying to think about the best way to automate it. And of course I have a verbatim transcript.
I’ve tried to understand the help file (with PPro2)and did a little trial and experiment of creating a custom template to keep the location lines looking the same.
I made a template based on the first locator with two lines, and saved it as a template. My idea was that each time I had a new location to insert, I would just open the template and type over the previous text.
However, each time I did that, saving the general project file, PP2 saved the file with the same name as the template in the project directory, and in order to save the information locator as a separate, discrete title file, PP2 requires selection of the file with the template name, then to export the file as a separate named title.
Trying to get a handle on this, and appreciate your collective wisdom or additional suggestions.
Cheers,
