February 17, 2009 at 6:25 pmHi Ty,
You can access the opacity control in a few ways.
1- Double click a clip to load it in the Viewer window and click on the Motion tab. Halfway down is the Opacity box and you can dial a number in there.
2- In your sequence, click on the Toggle Clip Overlays button (tiny button in the lower left of the sequence window, looks like a jaggy mountain) and you’ll see a thin black line appear in any video track. That line is also an opacity slider. There are a few other ways I’m sure, but those are the most direct (I think, I may be forgetting something).

February 17, 2009 at 6:29 pmThere are actually two ways to adjust the opacity of a clip Ty.
1. Double click the clip to load into the viewer — then you’ll find the opacity adjustment in the motion tab.
2. With the canvas selected, click Option – W, which toggles the “clip overlays” and a horizontal black line will appear across every clip. By dragging up or down on that line you can raise or lower the opacity of any clip.
BTW, notice that a red horizontal line appears across all audio clips when toggling on the clip overlays. That’s a cool feature for volume adjustment.
